Teaching Assistant – Additional Needs

Salary Grade: £18,070 – £19,430

Hours:  32.5 hours a week 52 weeks per year

Contract type:  Permanent contract beginning September 2017

St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is a friendly and welcoming school with an emphasis on promoting high standards. The Governors are seeking to appoint from September 2017, a Teaching Assistant who will uphold our strong reputation for good behaviour and a caring environment. The ability to form strong relationships with children and have good communication skills is essential. The successful teaching assistant will work closely with a team of teachers in classrooms and will be expected to support all children in a variety of learning activities.

The role:

This is an exciting new role. You will be supporting pupils across the school, who have a range of complex needs. You will be assisting with supervision of the pupils both in the classroom, groups and 1:1 when required.

You will be:

A qualified and experienced Teaching assistant with recent experience of supporting KS1 / KS2 pupils. You will have experience of effective behaviour management techniques and will ideally have worked with children with; Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD); Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD); physical difficulties and more….

Assessment and testing of candidate’s suitability to work with children is an integral part of our selection process. An Enhanced Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) check will also be required for the successful candidate.

Midday Supervisors x 2

Application closing date
Wednesday 19th April 2017 – Any application forms received after the closing date will not be accepted.

Hours: 7.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:45am until 1:15pm, term time only plus 5 INSET days, 39 weeks per year. Salary £8.45 per hour

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is a friendly and welcoming school with an emphasis on promoting high standards. The Governors are looking to appoint two enthusiastic people to supervise and interact with children during lunchtimes and work as part of a team. Starting from May/June 2017.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this. The successful candidate will therefore require an enhanced DBS check. Proof of permission to work in the UK may also be required.
