Today Key Stage 2 have been very lucky to be visited by Google, who shared with us their new app Google Expeditions. This is a new product that allows teachers to take their classes on virtual field trips – we went to the Antarctic, swam with sharks and even went to the moon!
The children absolutely loved this experience and we hope we can use the app and the VR goggles (Google Cardboard) again.

This week something magical has happened in our woods. The bog babies have hatched and were waiting to greet us this afternoon. We were so excited as they whispered in our ears and thanked us for looking after the eggs. We dug a pond for them to live in and made dream catchers to catch our dreams in the sunshine. A huge thank you to our friendly explorer and Fru Fru for helping us achieve our best this afternoon.
Spring has sprung ( well nearly! ) and we have a new group of explorers working in our woods. Today we have discovered Bog Baby eggs in the depths of the woodland undergrowth. They spoke to us and asked us to keep them warm and safe as they had lost their parents. We made them shelters, a nest to keep them snug and covered with layers of leaves to keep them warm. I wonder if the eggs will hatch next week?
A few of us were uncertain about working in the woods today but after an afternoon of adventure and setting out our seating area we all feel incredibly excited about the next few weeks. Everyone worked hard and really enjoyed our drinks and snacks nestled in the shelter. It was really cold when the sun went in so we reminded ourselves that layers are best when we are out and about outside.
We have asked the Wild Man of the Woods to guard the wood and keep the bog babies safe. I asked him for some sunshine next week !
